Pre-washing is an essential step for washing your vehicle safely. A large part of the dirt on the bodywork is abrasive. If it is not removed before hand washing, it can cause micro-scratches as the wash mitt passes over it.

Shine Active Foam is a foaming agent designed to be applied before washing; it works by encapsulating and lifting dirt, dust, mud and road residues. The foam clings to the surface, extends the contact time and makes it easier to remove contaminants during rinsing.

This pre-wash removes a large part of the impurities without contact, making the hand wash safer and more effective. It is particularly recommended for very dirty vehicles, after driving in the rain, in winter or before a thorough wash.

Active Foam is valued for its effectiveness, its ease of use and its compatibility with most protections when used correctly.

  1. Dilute the active foam from 5% to 100% in a foam cannon.*
  2. Spray the product over the entire vehicle, from bottom to top, going around the vehicle, then let it act until the foam has run off.
  3. Using a high-pressure jet, rinse the vehicle from bottom to top in a stripping step, about twenty centimetres from the bodywork.
  4. Then rinse thoroughly from top to bottom, about 70 cm from the vehicle to remove the remaining product.
  5. Then move on to a hand wash, choosing the shampoo suited to your needs.

    Active foam can be combined with the following shampoos when used in a foam cannon to obtain a denser foam:

    - Bodywork shampoo
    - Bodywork shampoo, high-gloss finish
    - Degreasing, dewaxing shampoo

    Good to know: Do not use in the sun. In hot weather, we advise diluting the product to around 10 to 20% and not letting the product dry on the bodywork. *The dilution range is very wide and must be adapted to your needs and the level of dirt. On average, we recommend a dilution of 10% to 15% for a regular wash.

On which surfaces can active foam be used?
Shine Active Foam can be used on bodywork, windows, clear coat, exterior plastics and wheels.

Can active foam be used on a protected vehicle?
Yes. Used at a suitable dilution, Shine Active Foam is compatible with vehicles protected by a wax, a sealant or a ceramic coating. For very frequent maintenance, we advise not exceeding 5% dilution.

Does active foam replace hand washing?
No. Active foam is a pre-wash step. It removes a large part of the dirt, but does not replace a hand wash for complete, deep cleaning.
